Week 5 - Photography

Today we spoke about photography. How to take a good photo ( best time after sunrise and just before sunset) and the best size for the photos to be when they are placed on the Internet and when you are to print it.
I found this interesting as i always thought that using the flash when taking a photo made it look more realistic, but Stuart doesn't think so. He believes that's its better without. I think the reason why i may think that its better with the flash maybe the fact that when i try and take a photo without the flash its always blurry.
Apart from that it maybe better as u get the real colour of the photo depending on what time of day or night it is. I believe that when you are taking a photo at night you definitely a flash. This is my favourite photo that i have taken recently.
Also i have decided to make a book about my trip to Europe that I went to last year. I still have to decide on what size I want to do it. I thinking of doing it the size of our diaries. Not too big and not too small. I will also be using 2 different fonts and make titles to show where i was at at the time on the photos. This will be like a mini album just made electronically.

Week 4 - Books in InDesign

Over the past week i have been trying to complete my CV at home but unfortunately the program didn't download properly and was not able to complete it. I tried to go and do it at Footscray to complete it but they did not have the program there either. Reason.. they don't bloody do Art at Footscray. Would have helped if i knew that. Well thank god for the computers at St Albans as i was able to complete it here today and this was the result of it.
This week in class Stuart showed us how to make a book in InDesign for out final project. this was a very easy progress but yet very confusing to do all the steps. This class was interesting but yet so confusing.

Week 3 - Colourful CV's

Today in class we learnt how to make a colourful CV and also include Images to make it more interesting. As i have never used InDesign i felt as though it was a little hard to keep up but enjoyed it at the same time.
Today I tried my hardest to understand what is required for this class, so Stuart asked me to look up 'Publication'. I looked through the dictionary for a definition and came up with these; 1. The act or process of publishing printing matter. 2. An issue of printing materials offered for sale or distribution. 3. Communication of information for the public.
Now i have a better understanding of Publication and makes it clearer for what is expected of me for the assignment. I think that this class will be very interesting and more fun than anything.
